Our Services

Energy checkups

Think reducing your energy use by 10 percent in one year sounds crazy? Think again!

We can conduct an energy checkup to help you:

  • Uncover a number of quick-payback energy conservation measures in your organization.
  • Make simple changes for immediate energy savings.
  • Reduce fossil fuel demand.
  • Reduce your organization's environmental footprint.

Why is Gundersen Envision qualified to help you?

An energy audit in 2008 allowed us to uncover a number of energy conservation measures to improve efficiency and reduce energy demand. We began seeing paybacks quickly. By the end of 2009, we improved energy efficiency by 25 percent. Our kBtu per square foot usage dropped from 184.2 in 2008 to 86.1 in 2015.

Here are some of the energy efficiency opportunities we uncovered

  • Retrofitting light fixtures with new light technology: $245,000 annual savings
  • Timing air handler operation: $78,000 annual savings
  • Chiller/tower optimization: $65,000 annual savings
  • Changes to boiler use: $64,000 annual savings

Building design and energy efficiency

Your new facilities will consume energy and drive expenses for 50 years or more. Thoughtful planning at the start of design can help prevent past environmental practices from showing up in your new facility. In fact, 75 percent of a building's life-cycle costs are committed in the design phase, so it is important to get it right the first time. Our experts can help you find hidden sustainability opportunities, including energy efficiency, using renewable energy, building with environmentally friendly materials and recycling construction waste.

Why is Gundersen Envision qualified to help you?

Gundersen's commitment to sustainable building practices is apparent system-wide, including in our new hospital completed in January 2014. Some of our notable achievements in building design include:

  • Energy efficiency in the top 1 percent for hospitals in the Midwest.
  • Construction recycling and reuse rates exceeding 93 percent.
  • Multiple LEED-certified facilities.

Envision® UDDERLY GREEN™ Organic Soil Amendment Products

Gundersen Envision owns many renewable energy projects, including a dairy biogas digester located in Middleton, Wis. Not only does the digester produce clean renewable electricity, the digested solids are composted to create a clean, organic by-product. This by-product is processed by Purple Cow Organics in Middleton, where it is blended into Envision's very own, UDDERLY GREEN™ soil amendment products.

The UDDERLY GREEN product line includes:

*Derived from GL Dairy's Biogas renewable energy project.

This product line was recently awarded the sustainable product of the year for 2017 by the WI Sustainable Business Council.
